U.S. Ballerina Shares Routines in Cuba

MATANZAS, Cuba, Oct 3 (acn) U.S. ballerina Kristan Gajdica, invited to the 11th edition of DanzanDos –the National Contest of Dance Choreography and Interpretation, shared on Friday in this city relaxation routines that allowed Cuban colleagues to verify practical experiences from diverse cultural canons.

At the Danzon Center, the young graduate from the University of Texas, in the United States, guided, with the cooperation of her compatriot Suki John, young Cuban artists in the performance of movements favoring the control of the body and the release of stress.
According to the 23 year-old ballerina, also a professor of yoga in New York, her proposal is a combination of styles and techniques, such as post-modern dance and release (a group of training methods emphasizing the release of muscular tension).
DanzanDos gives great importance to keynote lectures, because dancers training from different techniques can join under the orientation of a professor and take their bodies through other paths that are out of the ordinary, said Liliam Padron, president of the meeting.
According to Padron, director of the Espiral Dance Company, the program, which will run until October 5, includes a meeting with choreographer Suki John, who will tackle her unique way of channeling the recognition of the body, as well as a keynote lecture by National Dance Prize winner Silvina Fabars.
