Central Cuban Province Reopens Cultural Centers

Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Nov 3 (ACN) Authorities in the Central province of Ciego de Avila are reopening cultural centers to in-person attendance in tune with the improvement of the local COVID-19 epidemiological situation.

Culture official Roberto Jimenez told reporters that art galleries, museums, and other culture centers will again open doors to the public, though outdoor music concerts in local plazas and popular celebrations continue to be prohibited.

Several theater performances have already been scheduled for adults and children in the city this month, the official said, including a popular puppet show to homage local artist Yosvany Abril, which will travel different scenarios in the urban areas to avoid large concentrations of people.

The reopening of theaters in this province joins similar actions in other Cuban territories which are witnessing a freefall in the number of COVID-19 cases following the massive vaccination of the people with locally developed vaccines.
