Cuban music recording company premieres documentary to mark Culture Day

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 5 (ACN) The presentation of the documentary “Jose Loyola, con la charanga en la sangre", by filmmaker Alberto Padron, took place today at the national headquarters of the Cuban Writers and Artists Association, in Havana.

The premiere of this audiovisual material is part of the activities that the Recording and Musical Editions Company (Egrem) is carrying out on the occasion of the Day for Cuban Culture, to be held October 10 -20.

"Jose Loyola, con la charanga en la sangre" is a journey through the life and work of one of the musicians whose versatility has marked a period of consolidation in the history of the national identity, Egrem said in a press release.

According to the statement, Loyola, a renowned flutist, composer, pedagogue and researcher, has just celebrated his 80th birthday, with a very active participation in cultural life.

The documentary, through interviews with important personalities of Cuban music and culture, reflects the personality and trajectory of the man who is also director of the Charanga de oro Orchestra and president of the Boleros de oro International Festival.

As of today, the documentary will be available on Egrem's official YouTube channel, thus helping to make visible one of the most important names in the Cuban music scene.
