HOLGUIN, Cuba, Sept 15 (acn) Ukrainian dancer Vladimir Malakhov, described as the top male star of the ballet circuit of all times, gave a keynote lecture at the Eddy Suñol Theater of this city on Saturday, in which dancers of various Cuban groups participated.
The artist, who has impressed critics in several countries of the world, will preside over in Holguin the first edition of the North Atlantic Dance Contest, aimed at dancers and choreographers of the Latin American and Caribbean community.
Winning the Vladimir Malakhov Grand Prix, who will be handed over personally by this ballet celebrity to the most outstanding interpreter, is the goal of dancers, all of them young figures from 18 to 35 years of age, coming from Cuba, Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela.
Vladimir Malakhov is considered to be one of the most important 20th century artists due to the contributions of his technique and interpretation to contemporary art, as well as to his work as artistic director of the Berlin Opera Ballet.
