HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 3 (acn) Some fifty films, shorts and documentaries of 13 Latin American nations will be screened during the 9th edition of the Latin American Film Festival of Sydney that opened on Tuesday with the screening of the Cuban film "Conducta," second feature film by Ernesto Daramas, winner of two prizes at the Havana Film Festival in New York and of the Silver Boiznaga Prize at the Spanish Film Festival of Malaga.
Peruvian Lidia Luna, head of programming of the Festival, told EFE that this edition of the Festival will run for eight days. Standing out among the 16 feature films four documentaries and 30 shorts, added Luna, are the productions of Latin American women filmmakers, like "Mateo," by Colombian Maria Gamboa, as well as the emphasis put in musical documentaries, like that on Silvio Rodriguez or reggae.
