HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 25 (acn) The second edition of the International Book Fair of Haiti (FILHA) will be a new opportunity to strengthen bonds with the fraternal people of Haiti, to be held on December 11-14 in that Caribbean nation and in which Cuba will be the Host Country.
The details were given to the press by Frank Carly Jean Michel, in charge of the National Book Department in Haiti; Zuleica Romay, president of the Cuban Book Institute (ICL), and Edel Morales, vice-president of the ICL, in the presence of Haiti's ambassador to Havana, Jean Victor Geneus.
Activities will take place mainly in Port-au-Prince, although others on other Haitian areas will complete the theoretical-cultural program that includes a lecture on Jose Marti, as a politician and poet.
The upcoming Haitian Fair will open a new chapter of friendship between the two peoples, in the historic cultural bonds kept by intellectuals of the stature of Nicolas Guillen, Alejo Carpentier, Wifredo Lam and Jacques Roumain, among others.
