Photo exhibition dedicated to Cuba to be inaugurated in China

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 25 (ACN) The photographic exhibition "Cuba in the eyes of the Chinese people" will be inaugurated on Thursday, March 26 in the city of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, in eastern China.

The exhibition includes 60 photos taken by Chinese citizens who have visited the island, according to Carlos Miguel Pereira, Havana's ambassador to Beijing, on his official Facebook profile.

The photographic exhibition has been organized by the Cuba-China Cultural Exchange Center and the Office of Culture and Tourism of the Asian nation, which has a population of more than eight million inhabitants.

Both countries celebrated last September 28, 2020 the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, based on brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation in key sectors for the two economies.

At present, the volume of trade between China and Cuba is around two billion dollars a year, almost ten times the amount of 1995, and the Asian country is the second largest trading partner of Cuba, which occupies the same position among Chinese markets in the Caribbean, reports Granma newspaper.

Cuban investments in sectors such as Tourism and Biomedicine in the Chinese market have achieved important results, while China advances in the branches of Agriculture, Tourism and Renewable Energies in Cuban territory.
Biopharmaceutical products such as Interferon Alfa-2b, produced by the Chinese-Cuban joint venture in Changchun, have been widely recognized; and thanks to Chinese participation, Cuba now leads the digital television signal coverage in Latin America.
