Mexico to Host Iberian-American Meeting of Children ImprovisersLAS TUNAS, Cuba, Aug 16 (acn) The city of Jalpan de Serra, in the Mexican state of Queretaro, will host the 7th Iberian-American Meeting of Children and Young Poets, Trouveres and Improvisers, aimed at promoting oral traditions of ten-syllable verses in new generations.

The meeting, held for the first time in 2009, will return to the city that initially welcomed it, in the region of La Huatesca, a cultural area of the Sierra Gorda massif that includes six Mexican states, Laura Corvera, general director of the Queretaro Institute of Culture and Arts, told ACN.

Cuba was the host of the 6th edition of the cultural meeting, which wound up on Friday night in the city of Las Tunas with an artistic gala in which representatives of Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Spain and graduates from the children improvising workshops of several provinces participated.

Researchers and artists of Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Spain and Cuba met in Las Tunas starting Monday to take part in the meeting, which paid tribute to the region of La Huatesca and to late Cuban poet Jesus Orta Ruiz (el Indio Nabori).
