In Havana Works by Renowned Japanese Illustrator Seiichi Hayashi

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 9 (acn) Well-known Japanese illustrator and presenter Seiichi Hayashi inaugurated on Friday his exhibition “Bellas japonesas,” at the Gallery of the Ruben Martinez Villena Public Library in Old Havana’s Arms Square.
Japan’s ambassador to Cuba, Hiroshi Sato, pointed out that the presentation on the island of woks by one of his country’s most important artists in this genre filled him with pride. The exhibition, he said, adds color and artistic beauty to the wide program of celebrations on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of relations between the two peoples marked this year.
He invited participants in the ceremony to attend the lectures Masaki will give on August 9 and 12 at the Ambos Mundos Hotel and the Victor Hugo Center, respectively, and asserted that this is a unique opportunity to appreciate the varied artistic work of this creator.
Seiichi said that this is the first time he visits Cuba and added that the exhibition is possible thanks to the cooperation of his country’s embassy to Havana and of a large number of Cubans who love and appreciate Japanese culture.
