HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 18 (ACN) Cuba enriched the bibliographic collection of the Hebei Foreign Studies University, northern China, with the donation of a book collection from Cuban authors to contribute to the Spanish teaching in that school.
Ambassador Carlos Miguel Pereira donated the books as part of a tour around the university. Some titles are in Spanish and others translated into Mandarin Chinese.
The board of the University thanked the delivery and also stressed its importance to publicize Cuban culture, history and traditions.
Pereira and the head of the institution, Sun Jianzhong, discussed the possibility of continuing and reviewing the current state of bilateral initiatives such as the project to create an international artificial intelligence center in the near future with the Cuban universities of Camaguey and Las Villas.
The sides also ratified their willingness to carry out joint educational cooperation activities as part of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two socialist nations.
Pereira has been visiting Hebei since yesterday in order to strengthen ties with that province and his agenda includes a lecture about Cuba and its relations with China at the University and meetings with authorities in the region.
