HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 18 (ACN) Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla had a meeting this Tuesday with Dr Benjamin Chavis, executive director of the US National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA).
The activist and recognized defender of civil rights ratified the commitment of the American people, particularly African Americans, to the ties between the two countries and against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, Rodriguez Parrilla posted on Twitter.
During an exchange with the national and foreign press, Chavis, who participates in the 18th edition of the Series of Conversations Cuba in the US Foreign Policy, ratified his support to Cuba and affirmed its Revolution has brought benefits to its people, to the Caribbean, to the United States, to Africa and to the world in general.
The National Newspaper Publishers Association was founded in 1940 when John H. Sengstacke of the Chicago Ombudsman organized a meeting with other African-American publishers with the goal of "harmonizing our energies in a common purpose for the benefit of black journalism.
