The Council of State, in a meeting held last Monday, March 25, decided to hold an Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of People's Power for the coming Wednesday, April 10, at 9:00 a.m., in the Conventions Center, with the objective of proclaiming the new Constitution of the Republic of Cuba, endorsed in a Constitutional Referendum on February 24 of this year.

A memorandum of understanding was signed by representatives of the Geological Survey of the People's Republic of China and the Institute of Geology and Paleontology (IGP) of Cuba on scientific-technical collaboration in earth sciences.

The Father of the Namibian nation Sam Nujoma, the first president of that country and close companion of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in the anti-colonialist struggles for the independence of the peoples of Southern Africa, received with a fraternal embrace Salvador Valdés Mesa, First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, who is making an official visit to that African country.

Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said on Twitter that he noted the good state of relations between Cuba and the United Kingdom during a telephone conversation with Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and the Commonwealth of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received Monday night His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales on Monday, who is making an official visit to Cuba.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will be received today in this capital by Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, as part of the visit program of their British Royal Highnesses.

An official delegation from Cuba, led by Salvador Valdés Mesa, First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers, was warmly received in the Namibian capital by Ms. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of that African country.

The First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers Salvador Valdés Mesa, began an official visit to the sister Republic of Angola, where he will participate in the commemorative act for the 31st Anniversary of Cuito Cuanavale's victory. He will then make an official visit to the Republic of Namibia.

The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received on Tuesday afternoon the former President and Senator of the Argentine Republic, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who is making a private visit to Cuba.

Cuba last year seized 2,438 kilograms of drugs, most of them marijuana, coming from bales by international drug trafficking operations that did not have the island as their destination, the least amount of drugs occupied in the last three years.
