Havana, Aug 15 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel decorated several Cuban diplomats for their merits and commitment to their homeland.
The ceremony took place at the Palace of the Revolution, where the head of state pinned the Jesus Menendez Medal on outstanding diplomat Carlos Rafael Zamora, in acknowledgement of his outstanding labor merits and commitment to the Cuban nation, according to an X message by the Presidency of the Republic of Cuba.
Other distinctions were granted at the proposal of the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces to Luis Mariano Fernandez and Hilda Cecilia Realin for their valuable contribution to the defense of the internationalist principles, which characterize Cuban foreign policy.
Meanwhile, the Public Health Ministry granted the Cuban Red Cross medal to Joel Concepcion Laffita in acknowledgement for his outstanding attitude and courage during his participation in the return of Cubans stranded in Haiti, as he risked his own life to secure the safe return of his compatriots.
