Havana, Sep 6 (ACN) Marcelino Medina, Cuban First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, began today an official visit to Zimbabwe, the second stop of a four-state African tour to review the bilateral relations with those nations.
The diplomat and his delegation arrived last night in Harare, where they were welcomed by the Zimbabwean Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, James Manzou, and the Director of the Americas, Cecil Chinenere, as well as by the Cuban ambassador Carmelina Ramirez.
Medina began his African tour on Wednesday in South Africa and after his visit to Zimbabwe he will travel to Tanzania and will conclude his tour in Rwanda, Prensa Latina agency reported.
During the two-day visit to South Africa, the Cuban Deputy Minister held a meeting with the Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC), Ace Magashule, where he received the full support of the South African ruling party in the efforts to eliminate the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by US against the island almost 60 years ago.
