HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 17 (ACN) A batch of 10 dump trucks and 10 type 2 trailers, bound for Havana, was shipped this Monday from Yokohama, Japan, thus initiating the second phase of the JICS (Japanese Agency for International Cooperation) program for the economic and social development of Cuba.
This donation comes under the Non-Reimbursable Financial Aid modality, signed at the end of 2017 with the Provincial Administration Council of Havana.
This first lot is due to arrive in Havana on July 22nd , and is part of the total of 40 Hino Motors dump trucks with specialized technology from Shin Meiwa and 32 type 1 and 2 trailers, produced by Oki Trailers, Japanese leaders in their respective areas.
Cubaminrex reports that it also includes dozens of mini-loaders, transport vehicles, brush-cutters, chainsaws and vehicles with mounted telescopic basket, and their corresponding spare parts.
The shipments will complete their arrival at Havana port before the end of November, and will be an important contribution to the efforts to sanitize the capital of all Cubans in salute to its 500th anniversary.
The Cuban Ambassador Carlos Miguel Pereira Hernandez thanked the Japanese authorities, as well as the business representatives for the warm welcome given and the seriousness and professionalism shown in the execution of such an important project.
The after-sales and maintenance activities of the equipment will be carried out by Toyota Tsusho Corporation, a prestigious Japanese company present in Cuba.
