Cuba and Namibia seek to extent cooperation

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 11 (ACN) The IV Meeting of the Cuba-Namibia Joint Working Group begins on Monday in this capital with the purpose of deepening the level of commercial and technological exchange between both nations.

A note from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment published in Twitter specifies that the meeting will last until the 13th and will deal with topics such as collaborative programs in Health, Construction, Sports, Education and Food Industry, among others.

Since the beginning of this month, representatives of both parties have been finalizing the details of the meeting, which is held annually alternating its headquarters between the two countries, according to the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a recent press release.

Cuba and Namibia established diplomatic relations in March 1990, when the African country declared its independence.

In recent years several top-level delegations from the South African nation have visited Cuba including Hage Geingob, the current president, the founding President of the Nation, Sam Nujoma, Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa Amadhila, the President of the National Assembly, Professor Peter Katjavivi and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Peter Shivute.
