Cuban Foreign Minister receives Chief of Cabinet of Ministers of ArgentinaHAVANA, Cuba, May 29 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, received today at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry the Chief of Cabinet of Ministers of the Argentine Nation, Marcos Peña, who is making an official visit to Cuba.

The delegation that accompanied the Argentine high official included Fulvio Pompeo and Norberto Pontiroli, secretary and coordinator of Strategic Affairs of the Presidency, respectively.
Before arriving in Havana, Peña explained through his Twitter account that the purpose of the trip was "to work on bilateral issues of our countries".
The agenda in Cuba of the chief of Cabinet of the Mauricio Macri government also included a meeting Monday afternoon with Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, vice-president of the Council of Ministers and head of Economy and Planning.
According to Argentine sources, trade and economic relations betweenthe two countries are fluid, and the fundamental support for trade is in the food sphere.
Also in the tourism sector, Argentina stands out with the sustained increase in the number of visitors to Cuba, a destination to which 102,000 citizens of that country traveled the previous year.
With the arrival of Néstor Kirchner to the presidency of that country (2003-2007), bilateral relations at the political level entered a new phase, and were fostered during the mandate of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner (2007-2015).
After 23 years without a president of the South American nation stepping on Cuban soil, Fernández de Kirchner did so in January 2009, at the invitation of Army General Raúl Castro, then President of the Councils of State and Ministers.
The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, travelled four times to Argentina, where he made his last visit abroad, in July 2006, invited to the XXX Summit of Mercosur Presidents.
