HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 18 (ACN) Cuba's ambassador to Serbia, Gustavo Trista del Toro held talks on Thursday with Serbian authorities aimed at strengthening bilateral relations while both sides are exploring ways to increase cooperation, reported CubaMinrex website.
According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry website, the Cuban diplomat was welcomed by The Defense Minister of the Serbian government, Aleksandar Vulin President of the Socialists Movement Party as part of his working agenda.
Vulin thanked Cuba's position in support of Serbia in its efforts to preserve sovereignty and territorial integrity regarding the separatist pretentions of Kosovo.
Trista del Toro confirmed that the Caribbean island supports the principles on the issue and highlighted the friendship existence between both nations with its frequent exchanges with Serbian government and peoples.
The Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Lonchar met with the Cuban ambassador at the Serbian Palace in Belgrade in a meeting in which both evaluated the existing potential for cooperation.
Lonchar and Trasta del Toro spoke on the signing of a cooperation agreement last December on the production of vaccines and medicines.
The Serbian Health Minister confirmed his interest for a Cuban delegation to visit Serbia to jointly work in concrete issues aimed at discussing future projects of mutual benefit for both countries.
The Cuban ambassador also met with the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Minister Branislav Nedimovic who referred to the broad possibilities of joint work above all in the production of seeds and plant treatment.
The Cuban diplomat thanked their interest in advancing mutual cooperation and highlighted the importance for the Caribbean island to exchange with the governmental entity.
