SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Aug 15 (acn) The death of the President of the Cuban Journalists Union, (UPEC), Antonio Demetrio Molto Martorell who always talked about defending the truth, journalism and Revolution, in the early hours of Tuesday caused consternation among the journalists in Santiago de Cuba.
Santiago de Cuba, his birthplace, where there are many colleagues that were taught by Molto about the passion in exercising journalism and others that worked on his side, remember him with respect as a brother and friend, which deserved among other awards, the Jose Marti National Journalism Prize for the work of his life and the National Radio Prize.
Coral Vazquez and Margarita Piedra, journalists from the local Tele Turquino Television Channel where he worked and left an imprint, expressed pain for the sensitive loss of Molto and highlights his human values and capacity of unifying, creating and teaching as true educators for over 50 years in the sector.
The Director of the Sierra Maestra daily, Olga Thaureaux who was with Molto when he received the Replica of the General Maximo Gomez Machete highlighted his extraordinary virtues as a human being and integral, committed and professional revolutionary.

At the Press House in Santiago, a book of condolences was created which was already signed by dozens of journalists as a tribute and a way to share the pain of thousands of colleagues and compatriots in the country and friends from all over expressing that they will continue his example and care for his legacy.
One of the first to honor Molto signing the book was the First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in Santiago de Cuba, Lazaro Exposito Canto who summarized the profound pain with one word: Hermano (Brother).
The President of the Youth Press Club in Santiago, Gretchen Gomez Gonzalez talked about his lessons on ethics and professional wisdom towards the new generations, in which he always trusted and reiterated the responsibility of the future of Cuban journalism.
