Guantanamo, Cuba, Mar 31 (acn) The First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in Guantanamo characterized on Friday in that eastern city the work of the Cuban Association of Social Communicators (ACCS) as praiseworthy.

The President of the organizing commission of the 6th National Assembly of the institution, Rosa Maria Perez Gutierrez and Legra Azahares presided over the event held in the eastern province as part of the entity's process.

The Party leader praised the importance of discussing three main aspects that cannot be ignored by any organization in current times: ethics, professionalism and commitment with the Party and Homeland.

He urges to encourage creativity; support the conceptualization of the economic and social model of the Revolution, which will later turn into benefits for society and expressed that experiences such as what occurred in Baracoa when Hurricane Matthew devastated the eastern city must be extended and disclosed.

Previously, Armando Sancez Bartutis, representative from Cuba's first Villa, Baracoa, explained that the population was oriented on the arrival of the powerful hurricane and that damages were imminent, according to the intensity of its winds, through loud speakers on vehicles that toured through the city.

The anchorperson of Baracoa's television center, Primada Vision, said that the communication in the city on vehicles, which was maintained the following 13 days due to the collapse of the mass media in the city, increased the perception of the risk of the natural phenomena in the families due to their location or critical state of their homes.

Several participants referred to the need for improving their studies as a way to contribute in consolidating the professionalism of the social communicators and the correct use of the new information technology.

The assembly ratified Matilde Marquez Lorez as provincial President, approved the candidacy of the national presidency and recognized the support and activism of a number of associates and entities that contributed to the work of the organization in the territory.
