HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 20 (acn) Cuban Pediatrician Oldrich Gort Gutierrez celebrated on Sunday in Havana Father's Day after spending two months in Ecuador assisting victims of last April's earthquake.
The specialist, who works in a pediatric hospital in Pinar del Rio province shared his experience in the South American nation with his two sons where he proudly represented Cuba alongside 21 colleagues that returned to the island after a contribution to his brothers and sisters in Ecuador.
The 43 year old has also offered his medical services in Africa and Nepal, which characterizes the members of the Henry Reeve International Brigade specialized in Disasters and Epidemics.
In an exclusive interview with the Cuban News Agency after arriving to terminal 3 of the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana, Gort Gutierres said that this historic task leaves behind an unforgettable imprint.
These two months have been filled with humbleness, integration and love, said the doctor who also expressed his willingness to offer his medical services to peoples anywhere in the world.
Its moving to visit the places affected by the earthquake and see the local people offering the little they have, there was a lot of love and beautiful relationship between the health professionals and patients, he said.
The Cuban health professional commented that one of the girls he treated for Scarlet fever who was the daughter of a nurse in the health center where he was working told his mother to bring the doctor that treated her in order to say goodbye to me.

The nurse, with 36 years of experience said that they travel the world to offer humanitarian assistance, health, solidarity and support.
The nurse said she feels great admiration for the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro who created the Henry Reeve International Brigade 11 years ago.
"His people will never deceive Fidel and will continue forward", said the nurse who affirmed her love for the leader of the Revolution.
There is always a question that everyone asks us: It's about Fidel. He taught us to love, how to be responsible as humans, be humble and these values must be passed down to our children, to the new generation to learn how beautiful it is to offer what we have especially in the health care sector, said the doctor.
Deputy Health Minister, Dr. Marcia Cobas and the Director of the Central Unit of Medical Cooperation, Regla Angulo, both members of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party welcomed the medical brigade.
