HAVANA, Cuba, May 20 (acn) With the presence of Army General Raul Castro, President of the Cuban Councils of State and Ministers, and Bolivian President Evo Morales, an outline agreement for bilateral cooperation was signed today in this capital.
The Foreign Minister of Bolivia, David Choquehuanca, and Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, signed the document that will promote the development of mechanisms and programs to favor links within the framework of South-South cooperation, in key areas like the economy, health, education and culture.
One of the main sectors of bilateral cooperation over the past decade has been health, with the cooperation of the Cuban Medical Brigade, as part of which more than 700 health professionals offer their services in the Andean nation.
As part of cooperation between the two countries, more than 3,700 Bolivian scholarship students study in different Cuban educational centers, which will join the 2,558 youngsters that have graduated on the island.
