We are not talking about creating new installations of this type, but recover those that exist and work in order for its collections to be attractive and well intentioned said Gladys on the occasion of World Museum Day.
The specialist added that work is currently underway on the island to readjust the structure with different museum draft plans aimed at rescuing old samples with new designs.
In this sense, she said, celebrations for the 500th anniversary of some cities like Santiago de Cuba, Trinidad and Remedios have positively involved in the work of restoration of furniture and important exhibition.
One of our main challenges today is the conservation of sites and heritage declared monuments since we have over 500 places declared local or national monument.
As the number of foreign visitors increase on the island Collazo highlighted as important the orientation and education of experts that can transmit knowledge and information on the tangible and non-tangible richness of the archipelago.
Although there is not a specific school for the preparation of museum experts, we systematically offer training courses for our workers in order to improve their knowledge in the history of a collection or installation they represent, she added
Finally, Gladys Collazo emphasized that each airport has specific areas with specialists that are in charge of revising the works and objects that are imported or exported with the objective of preventing the illegal traffic of heritage objects and avoiding the entrance of forgery in Cuba.
