HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 21 (acn) Cuba participated on Tuesday in the International Symposium on Education Policies held at UNESCO, where topics such as school leadership, monitoring, evaluation and governance in the context of Agenda 2030 were addressed, Prensa Latina reported.
For the island, these aspects are fundamental priority in the face of the implementation process of the new Education Agenda 2030, commented members of the delegation, headed by Mercedes Escuredo, Director of Education of Camaguey province, and composed of representatives of the National Commission of UNESCO and officials of the permanent legation to the institution.
While speaking at the meeting, Qian Tang, vice-president of Education of UNESCO, underlined the importance of the implementation of the Framework for Action of the 2030 Education Agenda and the commitment of the international community, particularly Member States, to achieve goals set out.
The symposium, which ended on Wednesday, was the first follow-up meeting held after the approval in November of the Framework for Action, during the General Conference of UNESCO.
Member States of the organization, representatives of the international community working in this area, of civil society, and other actors, took part in the meeting.
