HAVANA, Cuba, May 4 (acn) The province of Camaguey celebrated International Workers Day with one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the country so far this year and an efficient execution of the investments aimed at the refurbishing of health installations in the region.
The mortality rate for children less than one year of age remains at 0 up until the end of March and although the rate is 1.9 for every one thousand live births, the number is much more inferior to what was reported in the same period of 2014.
More than just an indicator everyone is satisfied with the wellbeing and security achieved for the Cuban children and their families, said Fernando Gonzalez Isla, provincial Director of Public Health, entity that began the May Day rally in Camaguey.
Monitoring the number of pregnancies in the first 13 weeks and a more efficient early diagnosis of congenital malformations are factors that make up good results.
