MATANZAS, Cuba, Mar 18 (ACN) The University of Matanzas (UM), in the western province, relevant institution for the formation of human capital in the territory, will host from Tuesday until the end of the week a meeting between educators from Cuba and US.
Yasnier Hinojosa, head of the UM's Institutional Communication Department, confirmed to the Cuban News Agency that the university resumed work and academic activities on Monday, in view of the reestablishment of the National Electric System in the last few days.
He assured that there is the will to develop a successful meeting that will contribute to the academic improvement of all participants, both national and foreign, and that will contribute to enrich their pedagogical vision.
The panels entitled "Education in the U.S. and Cuba. The U.S. Educational System" and "Gender, Race and Educational Inclusion in Cuba"; and visits to scientific centers of the University such as the Center for Educational Studies and the Center for the Environment, are included among the activities of the designed program.
Participants will also learn about the Historic Urban Center of Matanzas, a National Monument; visit the UM's Faculty of Education, an elementary school and a special education center to increase their knowledge about the local heritage and education in the Caribbean island.
