MATANZAS, Cuba, Nov 19 (ACN) Contributing to the exchange of results in order to engage science in the search for solutions to professional practice problems in Cuba stood out as the shared motive of the XXV International Conference "Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science: Teaching and Applications" MATECOMPU 2024.
Organized by the Department of Mathematics-Physics of the School of Education of the University of Matanzas (UM), the meeting of Latin American researchers and educators provides an opportunity to share views, concerns and results in the teaching and application of exact sciences.
MATECOMPU 2024, which features courses, breakout commissions and book presentations, kicked off with the lecture "The professional qualification of math teachers today: Specific challenges facing Cuba" by ScD Paul Antonio Torres Fernández, an outstanding Cuban professor and researcher.
The event will address experiences related to good teaching practices in mathematics, statistics and computer science based on innovation, creativity and efficiency and will promote cooperation in these fields between professionals and institutions through joint scientific research for the benefit of a better education in the pursuit of development.
