HAVANA, Dec 11 (ACN) Ernesto Soberon, Director General of Consular Affairs and Cubans living abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on Twitter that the Cuban government is working to continue improving the country's immigration policy, despite the bans of the U.S. administration.
In his profile on this social media, the Cuban diplomat said that "while #USA hinders the ties of the Cuban community in that country with their families and friends in #Cuba, the updating of our migration policy eases the travel of Cubans abroad and the return to their country of origin.
Soberon also pointed out that in the last six years, Cubans have made more than four million trips abroad for personal reasons; while more than three million entries into the national territory of residents in other latitudes have been made.
In that sense, he also denounced the entry into force this December 10 of the new restrictions imposed by the White House towards Cuba, which consists of the flights suspension between United States and several provinces in Cuba with the exception of Havana.
The new measure is part of the blockade and isolation policy launched by Trump's administration aimed at hindering the development of the Cuban economy as well as preventing American citizens from visiting the Caribbean island.
