HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 5 (acn) Cuba and North Korea ratified their votes for strengthening friendship that unites their peoples, according to the exchange held by Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean island, and Ma Chol Su, ambassador of the Asian country in Havana.
About the meeting, the Cuban FM said that both parties ratified the priority given to their historical relations and the importance of continuing to expand the political dialogue and bilateral ties.
Both nations have diplomatic relations since August 29, 1959, supported on the basis of mutual respect and collaboration, based on revolutionary and moral principles established by the friendship of the leaders Kim Il Sung and Fidel Castro.
The brotherhood between the two peoples was continued and strengthened by the work of leader Kim Jong Il and the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Army General Raul Castro.
Likewise, in November 2018, the current Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, reaffirmed in a visit to Pyongyang that the Caribbean country gives high priority to relations with North Korea and affirmed that "Cuba will continue to strengthen the close friendship with leader Kim Jong Un and with the Korean people."
