HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 6 (ACN) The National Handicrafts Fair was opened today in Havana with a ceremony held at the Linea y 18 Cultural Station, so that it is now open to the visitors until December 19, 2021.
Cuban minister of culture, Alpidio Alonso Grau, presided over the ceremony along with Luis Antonio Torres Iribar, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Havana, and Reinaldo Garcia Zapata, governor of the province.
The fair is an expression of the resistance and innovation capacity of our creators, said Arturo Valdes Curbeira, president of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods (FCBC by its Spanish acronym), during the opening remarks of the event.
He recalled that the slogan of the fair is "From the bottom of my heart", and that this edition has several special dedications.
The fair will pay tribute to historic leader Fidel Castro Ruz, creator of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods, and to the 63rd anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
It is undoubtedly one of the most attractive proposals and this will be a response to the expectations of the population to have access to certain items, which also favors the substitution of imports, Valdes Curbeira concluded.
