HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 13 (ACN) AICA Laboratories, the Center for Immunoassay (CIE) and the Center for Neurosciences of Cuba (Cneuro), entities that make up the Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries Group, BioCubaFarma, were granted the category of High Technology Enterprise.
The Council of Ministers approved granting them this status through agreements 9161, 9162 and 9163, published today in the Official Gazette of the Republic.
The category is effective for three years, at the end of which it is renewed as soon as the company evidences that it has maintained the requirements and indicators for which it was granted, according to the document.
High Technology companies are those organizations that are characterized for showing great activity in research, development and innovation, as well as high technological standards, according to Decree 2/2020, of the Council of Ministers.
In addition, they close the cycle of research, development, innovation, production and commercialization of high value-added products and services, with emphasis on the foreign market; and constitute a way of connecting and coordinating knowledge with production, both through the results of in-house scientific and technological research and the assimilation and use of knowledge from external sources.
