HAVANA, Cuba, November 12 (ACN) Eight Cuban specialists attended a seminar on electrical mobility in urban transportation held in South Korea from October 27 to November 10 with the aim of strengthening technical and planning capabilities for its implementation in Cuba, according to Cuban Minister of Transport Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila.
The seminar was organized by the International School of Urban Sciences of the Seoul National University and the International Cooperation Center of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The Cuban experts visited the Electric Power Research Institute, attached to the national company Kepco, where they learned about the integration processes of batteries and chargers in real electrical systems and the challenges of mass charging, peak demand management, and grid stability, which are key to the future of electrical mobility in Cuba.
At Seoul National University, the participants witnessed urban planning projects related to traffic reorganization, regulatory policies, and public education campaigns to promote the social acceptance of electric vehicles.
Cuba’s Ministry of Transport reported that the experience will serve as a reference for coordinating actions among transportation, environmental, and higher education specialists in the country.
