HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 4 (ACN) – The Government of Switzerland, through its embassy on the Island, expressed its solidarity with the people and Government of the Republic of Cuba for the damages caused by Hurricane Melissa, which impacted the southeast of the country on October 29, 2025.
Swiss Humanitarian Aid and the Swiss Red Cross offered support to the Cuban Red Cross in water, sanitation, and hygiene tasks, the diplomatic mission specified from its Facebook profile.
A delegation of Swiss technical experts arrived in eastern Cuba with equipment for water treatment, accompanied by members of the Cuban Red Cross.
The specialists evaluated sites where water purification machines could be installed and carried out other actions related to the sanitization of the resource.
The cooperation is part of international efforts to support the recovery of the areas most affected by the meteorological phenomenon.
