HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 14 (ACN) Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, referred to the global rejection of Israel's genocide in Gaza, as evidenced by the New York Declaration, which he described as a new international call for the creation of two states to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
With 142 votes in favor, 10 against (including Israel, the United States, and Argentina), and 12 abstentions, the text demands an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, and its exclusion from the government of Gaza in favor of the Palestinian Authority.
"The complicity and pressure of the US government cannot stop the global rejection of Israel's genocide in Gaza," Mr. Parrilla stated.
During the session, Israel and the United States criticized the adoption of the document, calling it theatrical or a publicity stunt that only benefits Hamas.
