HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 29 (ACN) Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, Cuban deputy Prime Minister, and Hadera Abera, Ethiopian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, agreed to strengthen cooperation in areas such as water development, sugar technology, education, and the health sector.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' website today, the two representatives discussed regional peace and security within the framework of the 2nd Assessment of the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS +4).
Abera accompanied the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister in laying wreaths before the murals paying tribute to the 163 Cuban combatants who fell in defense of the African nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity, in the Ethiopia-Cuba Friendship Park.
The Ethiopian minister emphasized that the friendship between the two countries is enduring and is defined by a legacy of shared sacrifice.
Launched on July 27, the 2nd Stocktaking of the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS+4), co-sponsored by the Government of Ethiopia and Italy, seeks to promote actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
