Havana, March 21 (ACN) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero met in the Namibian capital Windhoek with Cuban workers offering their services in Namibia and with diplomats from the island’s embassy in the African nation.
Marrero said that every Cuban working abroad is an ambassador in the country where he or she offers services. “We are so grateful to their noble mission,” he noted at the end of the meeting.
The head of the Cuban medical brigade in Namibia, Iris Coober, said that the health professionals are working in 11 out of 14 Namibian regions. They are medical specialists and pharmacy experts working along Namibian health workers graduated in Cuba.
On Friday, the Cuban Premier attended the inauguration ceremony for president-elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the first woman to assume the presidency of Namibia.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Manuel Marrero and Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah held talks; both leaders agreed to strengthen of bilateral economic, commercial and cooperation relations between Namibia and Cuba.
