According to history, in the early morning of September 16, 1810, the priest Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla called on the people of Dolores Hidalgo to take up arms against Spanish rule.
This period known as the War of Independence began in the early morning of September 16, 1810 and ended on September 27, 1821 with the triumphal entry of the Trigarante Army, led by Agustin de Iturbide and Vicente Guerrero, to a joyful Mexico City.
