Havana, May 31 (ACN) The Cuban Foreign Ministry thanked Venezuela for its support against the US blacklisting of the island as a state sponsor of terrorism.
A communique by the Venezuelan Foreign Office dated May 30 this year reads that the inclusion of Cuba on that list only responds to the US administration’s political interests, which intends to keep enforcing its economic, commercial and financial blockade against the Cuban people.
The measure—reads the communique—is not only unfair and arbitrary but also hinders international cooperation against terrorism.
Venezuela called on the international community to defend the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of the states.
Cuba has for long been an example of solidarity, cooperation and the struggle for peace, the government of Venezuela stressed in the communique.
