Heavy rains have caused floods in Brazil killing over 100 people and affecting millions of citizens.
Along with the mortal victims, nearly 150 people were reported as missing on Friday afternoon, Telesur TV reported.
IN Rio Grande do Sul, the most affected region, authorities reported some 113 deaths, over 700 wounded and more than 400 thousand displaced citizens; another person was reported dead in Santa Catarina on Friday.
Rescue teams backed by members of the Armed Forces keep looking for victims and taking survivals to safe areas. Nearly 71 thousand persons have been rescued over the past seven days, along 10 thousand animals, authorities reported.
The regional government say that the weather phenomenon will impact Brazilian economy and that Rio Grande do Sul will require nearly 4 million dollars to recover from the damage.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva announced the allocation of 50 billion Reales, some 9.8 million dollars for the region, which includes direct assistance, subsidized credits for local companies and farmers.
