Havana, May 8 (ACN) The World Health Organization (WHO) Sanitary Emergencies Head, Mike Ryan, said on Wednesday that after Israel took control of the Rafah border crossing the Palestinian population in Gaz is again under a total blockade since humanitarian aid cannot enter the region.
Israel described as a limited offensive its attacks on southern Gaza where there is over one million Palestinians, including some 600 thousand children.
Ryan said that the Israeli military aggression is not limited because it blocks the entry of food and fuels, which is crucial to avoid the collapse of the local humanitarian system.
World Health Organization general director Teadros Adhanom said that the his officials will not leave Rafah, though the fuel available for hospital generators will only last for two or three days, no more.
Rafah has three hospitals, one of them was shutdown, and the two remaining are partially operating but if the Israeli occupation extends longer, the two health centers will also stop operations.
