HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 3 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, condemned today on Twitter the sanctions imposed by the European Union against Nicaraguan Vice President Rosario Murillo and seven other Nicaraguan citizens.
The foreign minister said that the European regional bloc once again resorts to double standards and politicization of human rights, in frank interference in internal affairs of the Central American nation.
"We strongly condemn the sanctions imposed by the European Union against the vpdta of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, and 7 other citizens of that country. The EU once again resorts to double standards and the politicization of human rights, in blatant interference in the internal affairs of that sister nation," Rodríguez Parrilla wrote.
The sanctions also include the president of the Nicaraguan Supreme Court, Alba Luz Ramos; the Attorney General, Ana Julia Guido; the president of the National Assembly, Gustavo Porras; as well as the presidential advisor for Economic Affairs, Commander Bayardo Arce Castaño.
Also, the coercive measures are taken against the general commissioners of the National Police, Fidel Domínguez Álvarez and Juan Antonio Valle; and the director of Channel 8, Juan Carlos Ortega.
These decisions of the European Union prohibit these officials from traveling or transiting through the territory of the community, under the pretext of human rights violations and actions that undermine democracy.
