HAVANA, Cuba, July 23 (ACN) Riding for City Bikes Miami, the Cuban cyclist Amed Marcos shone in the second stage of the Tour of Panama by crossing the finish line in eleventh place and third among the U-23 riders.
The Cuban arrived just 41 seconds behind the winner, the local star Franklin Archibol, who competes for Senafront and clocked 2:04.52h over Wednesday’s 97.6-km-long stretch.
This result shot Amed to the top-ten list in the individual general classification, 55 seconds behind Archibol, and from eleventh to third place in the U-23 group.
Thursday’s program features the third and perhaps toughest stage, a 113-km-long stretch with a second-category mountain pass near the end of the route.
