PINAR DEL RÍO, Cuba, Jan 6 (ACN) As of Thursday, no COVID-19 positive patient in the province of Pinar del Río will remain homebound, as decided during a meeting of the temporary working group for the fight against the disease in a region where the number of cases has been on the rise lately.
Provincial governor Rubén Ramos Moreno called to tackle the current scenario using the experiences gained in previous COVID-19 outbreaks, taking into account that all services will keep operating.
The meeting also reported that the inspection teams will be reinforced to deal with those who fail to wear their face masks correctly or keep social distancing, as established by the current health protocols.
To date, the province has detected More than 500 active cases have been detected so far in this province, albeit most show mild symptoms, according to Dr. Yusleivy Martínez Carmona, provincial deputy director of medical care, whereas Julio César Rodríguez Pimentel, first secretary of the Communist Party in Pinar del Río stressed that many people are neglecting the hygienic-sanitary measures.
“We have to be more disciplined and demanding, and the community work groups have to work well now that the cases of contact with a COVID-positive person will remain at home under close surveillance,” he said.
Over 90% of the people in the province of Pinar del Río have already received all the vaccines.
