HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 5 (acn) Cuban deputies addressed the need to control the concentration of wealth in the non-state sector because such sector leads to the accumulation of property.
The lawmakers, gathered at the parliamentary Commission on Education, Culture, Science, Technology and the Environment, analyzed the social and political guidelines adopted by the 7th Communist Party Congress.
Deputy Miguel Limia, from eastern Granma province, said that the private sector must keep developing but with social responsibility that prevents tax-paying evasion and impunity of those who commit such acts.
Lawmaker Yuri Valdes, from Havana backed the request and also called for more protection for the workers´ labor rights in the private sector, a question to which the leader of the Education, Science and Sports Union, Ismael Drullet, replied that the labor code establishes the unionization of workers in the state and private sectors to defend their rights.
All ten Cuban parliament commissions are gathering on crucial issues prior to the upcoming session of the legislative body this week.
