ACS international conference focuses on sustainable and safe tourism in the Caribbean



HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 11 (ACN) Recovery strategies for sustainable and safe tourism in the Greater Caribbean region, and economic recovery: analysis of connectivity and trade, also in this area, will focus the attention of participants at the 6th Conference on International Cooperation of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) today.

On its second and last day of sessions at the Packard Hotel in Havana, representatives of its 25 member countries and other guests, as well as different organizations, will address these issues in panel discussions, in addition to the signing of two MOUs and the closing of the meeting in the afternoon.

According to the program, Cuba will offer its best experiences in the matter of Recovery Strategies for Safe and Sustainable Tourism, in the person of PhD Orlando Sanchez Leon, director of the Tropical Institute of Geography.

The memorandums of understanding to be signed correspond to the Ibero-American General Secretariat and the Central American Maritime Transport Commission.

There will also be time for discussions and interventions by participants on opportunities for collaboration with the Association of Caribbean States.

In the final session of the meeting, Costa Rica, the country that holds the chairmanship of the ACS Special Committee on Cooperation and Resource Mobilization, will present an executive summary.

The closing remarks will be delivered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as those of the Secretariat of the Association.
