Cuba Opens International Agro-Industrial and Food Fair

Havana, April 4 (ACN) Havana Rancho Boyeros exhibit ground opened doors on Monday to the 23rd International Agro-Industrial and Food Fair with the participation of foreign and local entrepreneurs.

First Deputy Agriculture Minister Rodolfo Gonzalo said the event aims at promoting his sector’s portfolio of investment opportunities, the export of goods and services, and the promotion of the Cuban ranching culture.

On its 800 square meters, the fair is showcasing machinery and equipment representing 58 companies from Cuba, Holland, Mexico, Jamaica and Panama, Gonzalo said.

The event also favors the exchange of experiences, the promotion of food processing systems, production chains and the acknowledgement of outstanding producers.

The fair takes place amidst exceptional conditions in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the strengthened US economic blockade of the island and the world economic crisis, all impacting the purchase of necessary resources for local production.

Cuba’s agriculture sector has over 1.800 cooperatives, 310 companies involved in programs aimed at revitalizing Cuban economy.
