HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 24 (ACN) Namibia and Kenya demanded in the high-level UN General Assembly debate to put an end to the US blockade that has being kept against Cuba for over 60 years.
Namibia's President Hage Geingob expressed his deep concern about the continuation of the US extraterritorial economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuban people.
'We continue to express our support for Cuba's government and its people and we ask for the unconditional lifting of the US blockade, and respect for the sovereignty of that Caribbean country,' he stressed.
The leader added: 'In the spirit of creating a fair, peaceful and united world in which we promote peace and harmonious coexistence among all nations, Namibia looks forward to the day when relations between the United States and Cuba will be fully restored.'
Meanwhile, Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta also rejected the US blockade against the Caribbean island.
'We want to make a special call for an end to the US economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba,' Kenyatta noted.
Previously, South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa also asked to end the American economic and commercial blockade against Cuba, and advocated for the end of the US economic sanctions against Zimbabwe and Sudan.
