
HAVANA, Cuba, February 10 (ACN) Producers from the western province of Mayabeque will participate in an international project on local seed production using agroecological methods, which will take place in Brazil at the end of this month.
The initiative, as highlighted by Radio Mayabeque, emphasizes the participation of rural women and the exchange of experiences in science, innovation, and good agricultural practices.
Cuban farmers affiliated with the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences and the Institute of Animal Science will share their experiences in the use of biofertilizers, certified seeds, and agroecological practices that strengthen food security and sovereignty.
Furthermore, the report states, they will visit seed banks and production sites in Brazil to learn about new varieties and conservation methods.
This international meeting, the report emphasizes, is an opportunity to showcase the progress of Cuban agriculture in resilience and gender equality, as well as to strengthen cooperation with Latin American producers in the pursuit of more sustainable food systems.
