Cuban workers develop software that modernizes production line
Yoan Garcia Vilau, a mechanical engineer with the maintenance brigade, explained that the system controls the weight of the finished product, adjusts according to the packaging, and generates digital data on the number of bags supplied to each transport.
The project, contracted with a company specializing in computerization, cost approximately $10,000, while a semi-automatic line abroad ranges from $12,000 to $30,000, not including transportation and installation costs.
Garcia Vilau noted that the participation of the brigade's electricians and mechanics was crucial to the innovation, documenting individual knowledge and collective contributions.
Yunior Portales Oliva, a quality control specialist, highlighted the role of the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers at the factory, whose contributions have allowed for savings in imports and improved production flow.
Last year, Garcia Vilau was recognized at the Science and Technology Forum of the Western Feed Company for restoring the barge of the MK-654 tractor, used in the transport of the premix, which eliminated the manual transport of soybeans and reduced the physical strain on workers.
This innovation complements the programs of the Ministry of Agriculture aimed at strengthening the production of balanced animal feed, essential for animal nutrition and national food security.
