HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 9 (ACN) The ninth month of the year is one of the rainiest in Cuba due to the decrease in the influence of the Atlantic anticyclone compared to July and August.
This, combined with the frequent passage of tropical waves and lows, leads to increased rainfall.
The frequency of tropical cyclone formation in our region also increases during its 30 days, significantly increasing cyclonic activity over the country compared to the previous period, although it is somewhat lower than in October, according to specialists from the Climate Center of the Institute of Meteorology.
They specify in their bulletin that heavy rainfall events often occur in association with the direct or indirect influence of tropical cyclones.
The experts point out that the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) event maintains neutral conditions in the Pacific Ocean and, according to forecasts, predict a 97.5% probability of a transition to slightly warm conditions starting in November.
The same sources predict rain in the western and central regions. and eastern temperatures of 297, 199, and 156 millimeters, respectively; while maximum temperatures will be 31.8-33.9, 32.0-35.2, and 32.4-34.7 degrees Celsius, in that order.
